The senior class list is in this issue; it's remarkable how similar that list of names is to the 1800s lists of Versailles surnames.

60th Wedding Anniversary:
Ralph and Pauline BULCHER GIGANDET will celebrate their 60th anniversary on June 16, 1996. They were married June 13, 1936 at Holy Family Church in Frenchtown.

40th Wedding Anniversary:
Carl and Esther LEUGERS GARIETY of Russia will celebrat e their 40th anniversary June 9th. They were married June 2, 1956 at St. Bernard's Church in Burkettsville.

Ernest E. PLATFOOT, 85, formerly of Newport and Versailles, died May 27, 1996 in Versailles. Born Oct 21, 1910 in Botkins; s/o Joseph and Elizabeth ELSAS PLATFOOT. Wife: Helen Margaret MAGOTO. Burial in St. Valbert's Cemetery.

Mary R. LABIG, 77, formerly of Versailles, died May 26, 1996 in Piqua. Born Apr. 4, 1919 in Circleville, d/o Harvey and Pearl M. WARNER LAUGHMAN. Husband: Kenneth O. LABIG. Burial in Gettysburg Cemetery.

Lavern A. BRUNS, 58, of Chicasaw, died May 30, 1996 in Columbus, Ohio. Born February 16, 1938 in Minster, s/o Edward and Cecelia ALBERS BRUNS. Wife: Marilyn BAUMER. Burial in Precious Blood Cemetery, Chicasaw.

Ethel C. TREON CLAWSON PATRICK, 97, formerly of Vandalia, died June 2, 1996 in Dayton. Born February 21, 1899 in Wayne Township, Darke County, d/o Frank and Emma PIERRON TREON. Married first to Edward J. CLAWSON. Married se cond to Harold H. PATRICK. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Versailles.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward MEYER of North Star, Ohio, will celebrate their 50th anniversary on June 39, 1996. Ed MEYER and Margaret DELOYE were married October 23, 1946 at St. Peter and Paul Church in Newport. They have 5 children and 18 grandchildren.

Joe and Dolores DAPORE HENRY of Versai lles will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary On June 16th, 1996. They were married June 13, 1946 at Holy Angels Church in Sydney. Seven children and fifteen grandchildren.

40th Wedding Anniversary: Samuel and Nancy YAGLE of Versailles will celebrate their 40th anniversary on June 15, 1996. They were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Piqua. Sam is the s/o Henry and Mary SHEFBAUCH YAGLE. Nancy is the d/o Joseph and Agnes THOMAS NEFF. Five children and six grandchildren.

Many of us know or at least know of Lois Ann Baker of Versailles. Lois Ann and her son Jac have done a tremendous amount of genealogical research in DCO and are responsible for several publications. Lois Ann's mother passed away earlier this year and the poem by Tennyson 'Crossing the Bar" appeared in this week's Policy: with the dedication ".....In Loving Memory of Ellen [NISCHWITZ] JUDY" signed "Cleatus JUDY, Lois Ann BAKER, Jon BAKER & Family".
