Important information. Please read before submitting photos and data to DCOWeb.

The new DCOWeb Photo Album is designed to permit you to submit various photos and images (with a Darke Co. connection only, please) that you find or have in your own collection. Sources are always important, but we realize that many have pictures in their possession which do not have any information about the place or date originally published. You may still submit these, but please indicate what you know as YOUR source. 

Copyright regulations also apply. Photos taken or published in America before 1923 are in the public domain and can be submitted here. What YOU or your family photograph yourself is YOURS to submit here unless you signed away your rights to have it published elsewhere. DCOWeb can assume no responsibility for the accuracy of information presented here nor for verifying whether copyright law has been violated. All responsibility for such matters rests with the submitter. Photos taken by a studio or professional photographer after 1922 may also be subject to copyright regulations. If you see a photo at this site which you believe should not be here for copyright reasons, please let us know.

  • A good description of the picture or image must be included.
  • The description should include specific identification of people pictured when known.
  • Explain the connection to Darke Co., Ohio. Maybe the person's parents were from Darke Co. or they lived in Darke Co. for a significant time in their lives. 
  • Always provide -your- name and e-mail address. If you change your e-mail address, contact the Webmasters.

YOU own the images that you submit.  You will have to contact the Webmasters to get an image removed or corrected.  DCOWeb is merely the custodian making your images available for viewing.

Recommended images sizes: Landscape images = 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high--equivalent size in inches for a 300 dpi image is 2.4 wide by 1.8 high. Portrait images = 450 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall--equivalent size in inches for a 300 dpi image is 1.5 wide by 2 high.

Image file type should be *.gif or best quality *.jpg format. Please do not send images that are larger than 1280 x 960 pixels--equivalent size in inches for a 300 dpi image is 4.27 wide by 3.20 high.

  • To submit photos via email, send them to photo@dcoweb.org . Please include your name. Your name and email link will be posted with the photo.
  • Do not email more than one photo per message. Maximum message size limit including attachments should not exceed 600kb. 
  • If you have Web pages with Darke County photos, you can send the link to webmaster@dcoweb.org . Please contact webmaster@dcoweb.org when you submit photos or have other questions.
  • Please do not send images to webmaster.
